NEW CLIENT ALERT: Juban
Juban - 207 10th Avenue, New York, NY
Chelsea's Best-Kept Japanese Secret, Juban, Celebrates 10 Years by Stepping into the Limelight
Klima is thrilled to announce our newest client: Juban, an Izakaya in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood offering an inventive, family-style Japanese dining experience with artful sushi, grilled meat and vegetable skewers, and an extensive sake selection.
Juban has been a neighborhood gem for those in the know since its opening in 2015, with many regulars hoping to keep it a local secret. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, Juban is ready to step into the limelight beyond its Chelsea neighbors. Its unique mix of tradition and creativity aims to bring a little wonder into Japanese cuisine. Each meal is carefully selected - pickled cucumber and tempura cauliflower followed by an off-menu tofu dish; pork belly and kimchi before flavorful bok choy and juicy chicken meatball skewers.
While known for their vast sake selection (a color coded sake menu with over 20 options guides guests from cloudy Nigori to super polished Ginjo and undiluted Genshu), the cocktails are not to be missed. Two stand outs are the Forget Me Not with Japanese Roku gin, yuzu and shiso puree, or the playfully named Piccolo’s Punch (named for a Dragon Ball Z character) with a jalapeno and shishito infusion, tequila and lime.
Founded by Ashwin Balani, a longtime employee of the space’s previous locale, Izakaya 10, Juban has been a standout neighborhood secret for the last decade. Juban means 10 in Japanese, and in its 10th year now it is poised to continue delighting diners and creating new regulars.
