5 Reasons to go to Europe this summer

As if you need them…

Just in case, we’re sharing some tempting options from Formentera, Umbria, Rome, Lisbon, and Paris.

Tenuta di Murlo, Maison Villeroy, Rocalla, Hassler Roma, Palacio Ludovice

To Play Padel in Formentera

  • Rocalla is a new padel club opening next month (May 2026) in Formentera. The owner is Pablo Carro, COO and Co-Founder of Playtomic (the world’s largest community of racquet sports players and clubs). One can sign up for multi-day wellness retreats with activities like padel, yoga, and boat excursions, or if you’re staying on Formentera you can also just book court time and find matches through Playtomic’s app. They recommend guests of the retreat stay at Casbah Formentera Hotel.

  1. To eat as many truffles as possible

    • Summer truffles abound in Umbria. At Tenuta di Murlo - an 18,000-acre, family-owned estate near Perugia - guests can go out with an expert and a truffle dog into their sprawling woods to find the freshest black summer truffles. Back at one of nine beautifully restored villas, guests can shave their truffles over freshly scrambled eggs (from Murlo’s farm) or have a chef prepare a truffle-focused dinner or lunch by the pool.

  1. Wake up to a view of the Spanish Steps

    • The Hassler Roma has an unparalleled location atop Rome’s Spanish Steps. As part of an ongoing refurbishment, they have reimagined their Michelin-starred restaurant Imago and are working with designer Jacques Garcia to design the ground floor corridor and lounges. The garden will also be transformed, and coming this fall will be an exceptional new spa, excavated below the Spanish Steps.

  1. To live in a Parisian mansion

    • With only 11 keys, Maison Villeroy in Paris’ Triangle d’Or (golden triangle) is a mansion that makes other boutique hotels seem almost corporate. 24-hour butler service, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and a spa offer all the amenities of a larger hotel with a coveted intimacy. Its location is ideal - a 20-minute walk from l’Orangerie or the Eiffel Tower, a 10-minute walk from the Grand Palais or the Champs Elysee. Perfect for living out a Parisian daydream.

  1. To learn the nuances of Portuguese wine

    • In the heart of Lisbon, Palácio Ludovice Wine Experience Hotel is the former private residence of João Federico Ludovice, architect to King João V. The sommelier of the hotel’s Wine Bar in the vaulted cellar leads curated tastings focused on rare Portuguese labels. Keeping with the theme, the Spa offers  treatments like the Crushed Cabernet Scrub and Premier Cru facial.
